Samsung officially unveils Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and 10.5 tablets

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 tablet in Titanium Bronze

Samsung confirms the rumours with the official unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S range of tablets. The range will start with models featuring 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution Super AMOLED displays, super slim and thin profiles and high-end tech specs and features. The range includes the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 in both WiFi and 4G LTE. The tablets also come with various accessories that include the Book Cover, Simple Cover and Samsung Bluetooth Keyboard which will be made available when the tablets are available. The tablets screens include features like Adaptive Display for intelligent adjustment of gamma, saturation and sharpness, a 100000:1 contrast ratio and no backlight which makes the tablets even more energy efficient and thin. Various value-added content will be included with the tablets such as Papergarden, which is Samsung's magazine service, Galaxy Gifts which includes 3 months of free unlimited access to 15000 Marvel Comics through the Marvel Unlimited app and the Kindle for Samsung app which offers e-book reading deals and a free e-book every month on the Kindle store, and a lot more. Through a partnership with Google Play, new Galaxy Tab S users will also get access to free movies and entertainment content such as the "Gravity" movie via the My Library widget. Galaxy Tab S users will also enjoy access to Netflix (only selected countries). The tablets include better productivity features as well such as Call Forwarding via SideSync 3.0, Quick Connect, Multi User Mode, a Fingerprint Scanner and Kids Mode. The tablets are expected to be available from July 2014. No pricing details yet, but with these tech specs, features and freebies, expect premium prices to follow.
