Samsung has launched a company-wide AI initiative called AI Transformation (AX), a strategic program to integrate artificial intelligence into daily operations across all of its business units. So, what makes it worth paying attention to?
A program to speed up growth and productivity
For your information, this move aims to increase productivity, accelerate work automation, and promote widespread adoption of AI among employees and management. As part of the AX implementation, Samsung will provide access to a variety of external generative AI services, including ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Claude. These tools will be used across subsidiaries to assist with tasks such as software development, marketing, manufacturing operations and business management.
Additionally, workforce training is a key component of the program. Samsung aims to train approximately 280,000 employees by the end of 2026 in AI literacy, the use of generative tools, and the integration of AI into daily workflows. Implementation also starts from the top leadership level.
More than 50 group presidents will be involved
More than 50 group presidents will attend the AX bootcamp at the Samsung Human Resources Development Institute, followed by approximately 2,300 senior executives who will undergo intensive training with the first session expected to be completed by mid-August. Samsung is also expected to unveil the “AX Vision” during the leadership training session, which will detail the direction of AI adoption across the company’s ecosystem.
In addition, each subsidiary will establish a dedicated AI department to manage technology implementation and internal expertise development. This move reflects the global technology industry trend of increasingly aggressively integrating AI into corporate operations.
More Malaysian companies could adopt this strategy
Personally, we feel this is a rational move by Samsung. After all, we live in an AI-inclined reality right now. So, it wouldn’t be a surprise if more companies in Malaysia are adopting this program. So, you might have to upskill yourself for the ever-competitive environment in the working industry too. What are your thoughts on the news? Feel free to let us know in the comments below.
