Samsung has been generous with the rear camera setup on the Galaxy A series smartphones by offering four sensors. However, according to this report, the Korean tech giant might stop doing so as it's said that future Galaxy A series smartphones would only have three rear cameras.

The Elec claims that Samsung could cut down one camera from the devices to focus on the core photography experience. If you're unfamiliar with the setup, it's usually a primary camera, ultrawide shooter, macro camera, and depth sensor. The one that could be facing removal is the depth sensor.

Ditching the depth sensor would reduce the costs of making the devices. Furthermore, Samsung is offering optical image stabilization to more Galaxy A smartphones, so it seems like a one-to-one exchange that is supposed to keep the fans. Depth data is pretty important for features like portrait mode, refocusing, and features related to image segmentation, but most without will still be doing fine with the help of software.

Would you rather have the depth sensor back or go with the optical image stabilization capability? Leave a comment to let us know your thoughts, and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more smartphone reports.
