"The combined production volume of Chinese brands in the second quarter reached 139 million units, up 13.8% from the previous quarter," said TrendForce smartphone analyst Avril Wu. "

Even the two leading brands, Samsung and Apple combined were outnumbered by the combined volume of Chinese brands. Also, the volume growth rates of respective Chinese brands are expected to be higher than the global average in the upcoming third quarter.

On the global side, Samsung still maintained on the top in Q2 with almost 25% of the market share. But they do decrease by a bit compared to Q1. Apple came in second with 15.1% in Q2 but there's still an improvement compared to Q1 14.5%. Although just by looking at the percentage isn't much different, but Samsung shipped 77 million units, while Apple shipped 48 million units, so there's actually a big gap between these two.

In conclusion, both the top 3 brands share decreased, while the fifth and sixth share increased by a bit. With all the awesomeness and lower price range that the Chinese brands offers, it definitely brought a huge impact on the global side.
