Samsung's latest patent submission has some ideas on an under-display camera phone

While there are only a few more days until the Samsung Galaxy S21 series launches, the company just filed a new patent to the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office). Spotted by LetsGoDigital, the patent is named Display Device and seems to be a phone with an under-display camera technology.

Looking at the concept design, three ways are showing how the under-display camera technology could work. The 'cutout' that you are seeing is the tech feature where the front camera and other sensors could be hiding, whereas the one on the right shows a top-right corner placement. The cutout is also a separated panel that is connected to the rest of the display, which is how the ZTE Axon 20 5G's front camera works.

The under-display camera technology has been in the works for a few years already but no brand has yet to come up with a complete setup until ZTE last year. We think we won't be seeing this technology so soon but we could be surprised. What do you think of having an under-display camera?
