Samsung's tri-fold device might not come to Malaysia

For those unaware, it was reported last month that Samsung only plans to manufacture 200,000 units of its upcoming tri-fold device. Considering that the device would be more expensive to manufacture, it isn't unexpected. But what's worse is that we might not get it in Malaysia.

An industry insider (via ETNews) claimed the rumoured Samsung Galaxy G Fold is not only limited in quantity. It's also available only in selected countries. This is similar to last year's Galaxy Z Fold SE, which was only available in South Korea and China (as Samsung W25). While nothing can be confirmed yet, Samsung could do the same and limit the Galaxy G Fold to those two countries.

Of course, it's also possible that Samsung could sell small quantities in major regions like North America and Europe. According to ETNews, the Galaxy G Fold could launch with the latest Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip models later this year. Samsung is also expected to start manufacturing all three devices in April, with the official launch scheduled for July 2025. As such, we might have more info when July comes.

Considering how niche and expensive the Samsung Galaxy G Fold could be, its lack of availability in Malaysia may not be that big of a loss. Unless you're a huge tech enthusiast, of course. Would you be disappointed if it isn't sold here? Let us know in the comments below!
