Usually, the issue with using power accessories such as chargers and third-party cables is that they will damage the charging port or the charging duration is very slow. However, Samsung confirms using third-party chargers could cause another issue. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, Samsung released an article warning users of Galaxy devices about a few weeks ago. The article says using a third-party charger could cause the paint on the device to become scratched. According to Samsung, unaccredited third-party chargers may not be properly grounded and may cause electrical current to leak which affects the anodization. This will cause the paint of the device to come off.

In addition, another electronic accessory that will cause the same problem is Electrical Muscle Stimulation feature. This feature uses the phone as a power source. The use of this accessory will not be problematic if you do not hold the device after this tool is activated.

Moreover, Samsung says if you want to use a third-party charger, look for one from a well-known brand and one that has industry standard recognition such as Qi. However, we would strongly recommend using only official Samsung chargers.
