Samsung selects ChatGPT to assist with product development and company operations

Samsung and OpenAI are now expanding their collaboration to a new level, as Samsung will reportedly provide ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to all employees under Samsung Electronics. That's because Samsung wants to focus on internal AI adoption across the company's operations. According to OpenAI, Codex is now used by over 5 million users worldwide and has recorded nearly 800% growth since 1 February 2026.

Codex is now used more widely to increase team productivity

For your information, although Codex was originally developed as a programming aid, it is now used for more tasks such as writing, reviewing and fixing code, as well as helping to organise workflows and increase team productivity.

Samsung's move is not new to the South Korean industry, as several large organisations have already begun integrating OpenAI technology. Among them are LG Electronics, while Seoul National University previously provided ChatGPT Edu to around 47000 students and staff.

It will be interesting to see whether this internal use of AI will accelerate Samsung's next product development, especially as the company increasingly aggressively promotes its Galaxy AI ecosystem. Personally, we feel Samsung Malaysia and the country could benefit from this new progress. What are your thoughts on the news? Feel free to leave your comments below.
