A few hours ago, a short video was posted on Twitter X showcasing Samsung's new mixed-reality headset with Android XR. True enough, Samsung itself posted official news about the headset development so here's everything you need to know.

Samsung is collaborating with Google and Qualcomm in the creation of a new Android XR platform. XR or eXtended reality combines the best worlds of virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) as well as other similar technologies yet to be developed.

It will be available for both headsets and glasses, leveraging the power of Gemini. Currently, Samsung is calling it Project Moohan as the first headset designed for Android XR. Moohan in Korean means "Infinity" so that makes sense for the project.

Additionally, the company said the headset is equipped with state-of-the-art displays, Passthrough capabilities and natural multi-modal input. Using Google Maps, watching YouTube and planning something with Gemini are part of the user interface. We expect the headset to access other Google products as well.

Samsung did not give a timeline of when Project Moohan will be completed but it's safe to assume that we will have to wait a long time. Until then, let's sit back and wait for how it unfolds in 2025.
