Before the Apple iPhone 12 series launches, rumours were saying that the smartphones will come with 120Hz refresh rate displays, making us believed that it's finally the time. Unfortunately, the idea has later been dropped due to battery life concerns. Now, we might need to shift our hope to the iPhone 13 series as it is reported that Samsung will be supplying LTPO OLED to the Pro models for 120Hz refresh rate display.

According to The Elec, Samsung will become the exclusive supplier of the low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistors (TFT) OLED panels for the iPhone 13 Pro models. It is claimed that all iPhone 13 models will still come with OLED, but the models with LTPO OLED will be able to support a 120Hz refresh rate.

Earlier, it was reported that LG will be supplying the panel to Apple as well. However, the source has claimed that LG will focus on increasing its capacity this year in order to start supplying next year. With that said, it is suggested that Apple is planning to euqipped all iPhone models with LTPO OLED in 2022.
