Samsung Electronics has been recognised as the best Southeast Asian brand for 2024 by Campaign Asia-Pacific in collaboration with Milieu Insight. In addition, Samsung also holds the title of the best electronics brand in the region, based on the list of top 50 brands in Southeast Asia 2024 that assesses consumer mindshare in six key markets.
With an overall score of 69.27%, Samsung is ahead of other competitors in the electronics sector. This outstanding performance is contributed by its position as the number one electronic brand in five major Southeast Asian markets such as Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Samsung also recorded the highest brand score (89%) in the region, in addition to achieving the highest scores for quality, trust, and innovation.
According to ChonHong Ng, Vice President and Regional Marketing Head of Samsung Electronics Southeast Asia and Oceania:
“This recognition proves our dedication to providing meaningful innovation and exceptional experiences to consumers in the region. We are grateful for the support given and will continue to strengthen efforts to bring a quality experience to users.”
The evaluation was conducted through a survey of more than 10,000 users in six Southeast Asian countries, namely Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Singapore. As a result, Samsung came out on top, followed by leading e-commerce platform Shopee (second), tech giant Apple (third), and multipurpose app Grab (fourth).
Tech brands aren't the only ones that stand out. Watsons, Lazada, UNIQLO, NETFLIX, JNT EXPRESS and YOUTUBE each placed on the top 10 list, as a result of the scores given by users who enjoy the ease of purchase, as well as the frequency of transactions among customers. More than 1,200 brands from 10 sectors including fashion, financial services, e-commerce, and food delivery were evaluated based on nine key attributes such as trust, innovation, and purchase experience.
