Voice assistants have been around for a few years but it's never really taken off. While Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa are commonly used in the USA, other options are hardly popular. For Samsung, its S Voice assistant hasn't gotten any traction and now that it has Bixby, the company has decided to discontinue S Voice.

According to Sammobile, S Voice will officially be discontinued on 1 June 2020. Once that happens, those using S Voice will get "I'm unable to process your request. Try again later" as a response. Fortunately, you probably won't miss having this service around. Although it allowed you to set reminders, make calls, or do internet searches via voice command, it's not that much faster than doing it manually and the voice recognition accuracy wasn't too good.

Of course, those who appreciate the use of voice assistants can still use Samsung Bixby. The latest version 2.0 of the AI voice assistant can be installed on your device as long as it is on Android Pie (9.0). If it doesn't, then you'll have to use Google Assistant instead.

While unfortunate, the newer Samsung Bixby has more room to grow as a technology. With that said, do you actively use voice assistants? What do you normally use it for? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more tech news.
