A few years ago, Exynos chipsets weren't very competitive in comparison with other manufacturers. But Samsung stuck to its guns because market competition is important. These days, Exynos chips perform much better, and now Samsung has a new one on the way.
That's right, Samsung is allegedly working on a new chipset for entry-level devices. The chipset in question is the Exynos 1280, which is manufactured on the 5nm process. It's also supposed to have lower specifications than the Exynos 1080. We can expect the Exynos 1280 to be a cut-down version with less powerful Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 CPU cores.

Strangely, its specification is lower than Exynos 1080
For entry-level models
If it's a cut-down version of the Exynos 1080, we can also expect it to be a 5G chipset. As such, we would most likely see it equipped with Samsung devices like the entry-level models in the Galaxy A or Galaxy M series. vivo is the other brand that might use this chipset.
Since news of this chipset has begun to appear, it will probably launch with the Exynos 2200. It should be interesting to see how these chips would perform, but for now, stay tuned to TechNave for more updates about it.
