Some game franchises go on lengthy hiatuses and the Serious Sam series is one of them. Serious Sam 3 launched back in 2011 and since then developers Croteam have been rather quiet. It wasn't till 2015 that Croteam finally announced the development of Serious Sam 4. Now, the game is officially unveiled as the devs surprised many by announcing that the game is coming in 2020.

The newly released cinematic trailer confirms that Serious Sam 4 will be released in August 2020 on Stadia and Steam. If you want to, you can already pre-order the game on both platforms. This time around, there is a Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition that costs RM65 and RM80 respectively. In terms of game modes, 4-player online coop makes a comeback here, so you can shoot at hordes of Mentals with your friends once more. There will also be a new mode called the Legion System, which throws a LOT more enemies at you than the previous games used to.

According to Kotaku, publisher Devolver Digital also announced that the game will be a timed-exclusive on Google Stadia and Steam. In other words, console gamers won't be able to get it on the Xbox One or PlayStation 4, at least not until 2021 at the earliest. We weren't told when the exclusivity would end, but it's probably going to last at least 6 months, meaning that it won't be available on consoles until February 2021.

I'm quite eager for this game to launch but what about you all? Are there any old fans of the Serious Sam series excited for this? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
