After launching the Setel Express delivery service last month, it seems that Setel Malaysia is not resting on its laurels and has added yet another new feature to its app. This time around, Setel is introducing an Automated Parking Payment service that uses license plate recognition for a seamless parking experience.

For now, this feature is only available at Suria KLCC but Setel has alluded to adding other locations in the future. In fact, based on the app, two other locations will utilise the service soon, which are KLCC Convention Centre and KLCC Lot 91.

Already making its debut on the Setel app, all you have to do to activate the service is to navigate to the ‘More’ tab on the app and select ‘Parking’. You can then add up to 5 vehicles into your Setel account by keying in their respective plate numbers.

However, do note that only one vehicle is allowed to use the service at a given time. Just make sure that your Setel Wallet has enough balance and the parking gate will automatically open when it detects your vehicle’s license plate.

Setel will also not exert any surcharge for using the Automated Parking Payment feature, whereby you will only be charged the location's standard parking fee. Furthermore, like all other payments made through the Setel app, you will also be getting Mesra points for the parking fees paid.

Another caveat to using the service is that you must enter parking through designated Setel lanes which are indicated by special banners. Here is how the Setel parking lane looks like at Suria KLCC:
