Today, Shopee Malaysia introduced a new payment feature called SPayLater. As the name suggests, a Shopee user can buy an item and pay later via instalment fees within six months. If this is the kind of payment you like, read one more below to see how it works.
According to the official webpage, any Malaysian who has a valid MyKad can use SPayLater but must be at least 18 years old. After you update your Shopee app to the latest version, go into your profile and search for SPayLater then activate it. After filling up the necessary steps, you will be able to use it immediately.
If you want to use SPayLater during your checkout, tap on the Payment Option and it should appear there. The list includes "Buy Now Pay Later" or a few instalment fees depending on the product. After you have chosen your preferred payment option, enter your ShopeePay PIN and you're all set and done. However, keep in mind that you have to pay the instalment fee manually which is doable in the SPayLater tab.
Customers who choose this option are encouraged to pay on the first day of the month and no more later than the 10th day. If you are late, you would have to pay up to 1.5% more per month.
