Shopee has taken to its Seller Education Hub to announce that it is increasing the SPayLater seller fee from 3.5% to 4.5% for all completed orders. This change will take place starting tomorrow (8 May).
In case you’re not familiar, SPayLater is a Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) payment option offered by Shopee that’s available on its platform. It allows buyers to make immediate purchases and defer payments based on flexible instalment plans ranging from 1 to 24 months.

Currently, Shopee charges a 3.5% fee on sellers for all completed orders paid by customers using SPayLater. For customers, they would only incur a fee if they opt for SPayLater payment plans of 6 months or longer.
Starting tomorrow, sellers will incur a 4.5% fee instead if customers opt to pay using SPayLater for their items, regardless of the tenure. Shopee didn’t disclose any reason for the hike.
