No thanks to the pandemic, it seems that more people have bought things online more than before from the comfort of their couches. This is pretty evident during 11.11 sales, where servers crashed and people complained while others survived. However, there is one particular individual who spent up to RM70,000 in just a single receipt.

According to Shopee Regional MD, Ian Ho, he said the transaction happened in the first 8 hours and in fact, it was also the biggest single transaction ever made on the Shopee app. When asked what were the items bought, he said there were plenty of detergents, hand sanitizer, disinfectant, smart robot vacuum cleaners, air fryers, cookware sets and pet food as the top item list. Boy, that sounds like the guy just moved into a new home and just got most of the things online (lol).

In other related 11.11 news, Mr Ho also mentioned that 53,000 packets of Samyang Hot Chicken instant noodles were sold within 8 hours. Other popular sales include the Huawei MateBook D15 being sold out in the first 10 minutes under brands category, which contribute Huawei Malaysia's RM1 million profit in total. Obviously, this really shows the consumerism power by Malaysians as Malaysia is currently ranked at the fourth spot in terms of gross merchandise value (according to Alibaba Group's news hub, Alizila).
