Shopee will start charging a "Platform Fee" of RM0.50 per order , effective 16 July 2025. However, not all sellers will be affected by this charge.
An initiative to support the local sellers
All local sellers on Shopee with less than 100 orders per month will be exempted from the RM0.50 Platform Charge for each order. The 100 orders per month count will be updated every 1st of the month . For example:
- For the period 16 – 31 July, Shopee will refer to the number of net orders from 15 June to 14 July.
- For August, it will be based on orders from July 2 to July 31.
Eligible sellers will receive notifications via Seller Center the week of July 14, and at the beginning of each month starting August 2025.
For example, if Seller A records 99 paid orders in June , the RM0.50 charge will not be applied in July. But if in July the orders increase to 101 , the charge will be applied starting August. Sellers can also check the monthly status here.
Who will be affected by this exemption?
Additionally, exemptions are also given to new Marketplace sellers with 100 orders or fewer and who have listed their first product within 120 days.
Orders containing at least one basic necessity product such as bread, flour, sugar, oil, salt, rice, garlic, ginger, shallots or chicken will also not be subject to this Platform Charge.
For sellers who participate in the Fulfilled by Shopee (FBS) program , all orders through FBS will also be exempt from this RM0.50 charge until the end of December 2025.
For more information, sellers are advised to refer directly to the official Shopee platform.
