Today, ShopeePay has announced the launch of Money+, a new investment feature that allows users to generate daily returns from as little as RM10. The feature is available through both the ShopeePay app and the main Shopee app, positioning it as a low barrier entry point for users looking to grow idle balances within their ewallet.

Money+ is developed in partnership with iFAST Capital Sdn Bhd (read more about the news here) and is backed by Eastspring Investments Berhad through its Shariah-compliant money market fund.

Shariah Compliant Fund With Daily Liquidity

At the core of Money+ is the Eastspring Investments Islamic E Duit Fund, a fully Shariah-compliant money market fund. ShopeePay says the product is designed to reward users with daily returns while keeping funds liquid and accessible for everyday use. Balances held in Money+ can be used instantly for online purchases, in-store payments via DuitNow QR, or withdrawn at any time, blending investment functionality with payment convenience.

ShopeePay CEO Alain Yee said the feature was developed in response to feedback from users who find traditional investing intimidating or inaccessible. By simplifying access and lowering the minimum entry amount, ShopeePay aims to encourage more Malaysians to begin building savings and growing wealth through everyday financial habits. The integration allows users to move seamlessly between spending and investing without leaving the Shopee ecosystem.

iFAST and Eastspring Strengthen Fintech Collaboration

Dennis Tan, CEO of iFAST Malaysia, described Money+ as a step toward making professional investment solutions accessible regardless of starting capital. He noted that the partnership connects high-engagement digital platforms with capital markets infrastructure, enabling users to put idle ewallet balances to work in a practical and frictionless way.

Eastspring Investments CEO Yap Siok Hoon added that Money+ promotes disciplined investing by allowing users to invest small amounts while maintaining full liquidity, turning everyday balances into a long-term financial habit.

Limited Time Bonus Offers Up to 6% Per Annum

To mark the launch, ShopeePay is offering a limited-time bonus campaign running from 27 January 2026 to 27 April 2026. Users who maintain a minimum balance of RM150 in Money+ will receive bonus top-ups on balances of up to RM1000, bringing potential returns of up to 6% per annum, credited daily. ShopeePay notes that returns are not guaranteed and are based on historical performance, which may not reflect future outcomes.

As competition intensifies among digital wallets and fintech providers, features like Money+ could play a key role in differentiating platforms through financial utility rather than payments alone.
