If you're bored of the same laptop experience, there's something that might pique your interest. A company known as Sightful has announced a laptop that doesn't feature your typical laptop display. So, what does this so-called Spacetop G1 offer? Let's take a look.

According to the company's website, the Spacetop G1 is an AR (augmented reality) laptop for work. Instead of an LCD or OLED screen, it sports a pair of AR glasses as a display replacement. The glasses are wired to a laptop with a keyboard and trackpad, so it's mostly like a regular laptop. However, it runs on a custom operating system instead of the more common Microsoft Windows 10/11.

Spec-wise, the Spacetop G1's AR glasses function as a Full HD OLED screen. It has a 90Hz refresh rate, a 50-degree field of view, and can output a 100-inch canvas. It supports customised prescription lenses, but you can also wear it over your regular glasses. As for the operating system, Sightful said it's designed for the modern Web and productivity. In other words, you have to use the online version of programs like Microsoft Word or PowerPoint instead of the desktop ones.

Mind you, the Spacetop G1 will probably never make its way to Malaysia. It's also not cheap, as it retails for USD1900 (~RM8943) in the US. But it IS a cool device and more portable than a standard laptop, so it might interest some of you. What do you think?
