If you've been thinking about becoming a Grab driver, now is probably a good time. Grab Malaysia has announced that those who sign up to become a new Grab driver-partner before 31 March 2020 will be awarded up to RM800 in bonus and subsidies. Details of it are now up on Grab Malaysia's sign-up page.

According to Grab, RM500 will be given in the form of driving credits, which are then added into your account's credit wallet. You can cash out this amount of transfer it to a bank, as its purpose is to help new drivers offset the cost of commissions. If you're unfamiliar with the concept, it's basically what gets deducted from a Grab driver's credit wallet when they do bookings. Having the RM500 as a buffer means they get to earn more.

The coverage of the up to RM300 subsidies is a bit vague but there are a few things we know. From the sign-up page, we know that the subsidy will cover up to RM100 for the training to get a PSV license, while the regulations page mentions that the company will cover RM70 for PUSPAKOM inspection (if your car is more than 3-years-old), and provide other benefits like fuel rebates or vehicle maintenance.
