After turning heads at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, smart Malaysia has officially opened bookings for the all-new smart #5, the brand’s latest all-electric SUV that combines rugged design, cutting-edge technology, and everyday practicality. Easy Booking and Design
Bookings for the smart #5 are now open with a RM2000 fee, available through the Hello smart App on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery, or via the smart Malaysia website. The smart #5 comes in four colours for the Premium trim and three for the BRABUS edition. Inside, it’s all about luxury and craftsmanship — soft-touch Nappa leather wraps over 90% of the cabin, complemented by oak wood trims and a distinctive tie-clip–inspired dashboard.
The spacious interior is topped with a 1.7m² panoramic glass roof that floods the cabin with natural light, while a powered sunshade and onboard chiller add a touch of comfort and convenience. Practicality remains a key highlight with 34 storage spaces, a 1530L rear trunk, and a 72L front trunk. Passengers can also configure the cabin with multiple bed modes, ventilated seats, and a one-button comfort setting for the rear seats — perfect for long drives or impromptu getaways.
Other Technologies
Internally, the smart #5’s tech suite features dual 13-inch OLED displays, a 25.6-inch augmented reality head-up display, and an AMD V2000 automotive-grade chipset that powers the intelligent infotainment system. The in-car AI assistant, LEO, now powered by ChatGPT, offers a conversational experience to help with navigation, entertainment, and vehicle controls. The audio system is equally impressive — a SENNHEISER 20-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos and an auto-lift centre speaker paired with ambient lighting for a cinematic sound experience.
Safety and Performance
Built for strength and stability, the smart #5 earned a 5-Star Euro NCAP safety rating and boasts the highest overall safety score among large SUVs tested in 2025. Its body structure offers 42000Nm torsional strength, made from 82% high-strength steel, with seven airbags, Smart Pilot Assist, Highway Pilot Assist, and a 360° camera system. The SUV also offers nine drive modes, including five dedicated to off-roading, ensuring confidence on any terrain.

The Premium variant delivers smooth, efficient performance with rear-wheel drive, a 100kWh battery, and up to 590km of WLTP range. It accelerates from 0–100km/h in 6.5 seconds and supports 800V charging architecture, 22kW AC, and 400kW DC fast charging — making long-distance travel effortless.
For thrill-seekers, the smart #5 BRABUS edition adds dual-motor all-wheel drive, Launch Mode, and a custom BRABUS driving sound. It sprints from 0–100km/h in just 3.8 seconds and comes with Dinamica microfibre seats, red brake callipers, and 21-inch BRABUS Monoblock Z wheels for an unmistakably sporty look.
