Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 Mobile Platform announced for mid-range tier devices

In another addition to the 7-Series, Qualcomm just announced a new Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 Mobile Platform. Like the other new chips, the new platform offers on-device generative AI capabilities for mobile gaming, camera and video, and more.

According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 supports LLMs including Baichuan-7B, Llama 2 at 1B parameters and others. It is also powered by Qualcomm Adreno GPU which can enhance new mobile gaming experiences, professional-grade camera and video capture features such as 12-bit triple ISP and 4K sHDR.

Qualcomm proudly said the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 achieved new performance heights across the board. It was reported that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 has a nearly 20% CPU performance improvement thanks to the latest Qualcomm Kryo CPU and up to 40%  accelerated GPU. Additionally, it also has over 30% better AI performance and 12% overall power savings.

On the other hand, Qualcomm also confirmed that the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 will be initially adopted by Xiaomi, with the first device expected to be announced next month. Leading OEMs, including realme, Samsung and Sharp are also expected to announce the adoption of Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 in the coming months.
