Qualcomm officially unveiled the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset last month with some pretty impressive features and specs. Well, another version of the SoC, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy that’s exclusive to Samsung flagship devices is set to be unveiled with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and may feature a considerable upgrade.
As shared by reliable tipster Ice Universe on X, he claimed that the special version of the SoC may feature an upgraded GPU. A 1000MHz or 1GHz Adreno 750 GPU to be exact.
For context, Samsung and Qualcomm have an agreement for the latter’s flagship SoC to have an overclocked version that’s exclusive to the former’s devices. This was first showcased on the Galaxy S23 series, whereby for the first time, a ‘for Galaxy’ Qualcomm chipset was introduced.
Specifically, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy SoC has a 28% increase in clock speed compared to the usual Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processors found in other smartphones.
