Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform is official & Xiaomi will be the first one to use it

Today, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced that there will be a new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform. According to Chris Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Handsets of Qualcomm, the new chipset is designed to enhance user experiences, fostering creativity and productivity in their daily lives via AI. 

Following the announcement of the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, William Lu, Partner and President of Xiaomi Corporation, President of the International Business Department, GM of Xiaomi Brand also confirmed that an upcoming Xiaomi phone will be the first to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 soon in March. Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 will be adopted by key OEMs including Honor, iQOO, realme, and Redmi.

In terms of features, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 supports a broad array of AI models including popular large language models (LLM) such as Baichuan-7B, Llama 2 and Gemini Nano. This newer version of the 8 series includes on-device generative AI features, an always-sensing ISP, hyper-realistic mobile gaming, breakthrough connectivity and lossless high-definition sound.
