If you're heading to town this weekend, you'll have to take some detours due to upcoming events. The first one is the Kuala Lumpur Standard Chartered Marathon (KLSCM) 2025 from 4-5 October 2025, while the other is the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2025, which ends in KL on 5 October 2025.
KLSCM 2025 details
According to Datuk Fadil Marsus (KL police chief), the KLSCM 2025 5KM and 10KM runs are on 4 October, while the 21KM and 42KM runs are on 5 October. Roads will be closed from 5 to 10 AM on the first day of the run and from 3 to 10 AM on the second day.


The roads to be closed on 4 October are Jalan Raja Dataran Merdeka, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Ampang towards the city centre, Jalan P. Ramlee, and Jalan Kuching towards Bulatan Dato Onn. Whereas the road that will close on 5 October is slightly different, consisting of: Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Ampang, Akleh Highway, Duke Highway, and a few other major routes around the city centre.
LTdL 2025 details
On the other hand, LTdL 2025 will mostly affect KL roads on the final leg of the race on 5 October. Datuk Fadil confirmed that Jalan Ampang, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Yap Kwan Seng, and Jalan P. Ramlee will be closed. These roads will be closed from 2 PM until the race's completion.
Anyway, if you're visiting KL this weekend, make sure to avoid these roads if you're driving.
