As the date for the Samsung Galaxy S5 unveiling approaches more leaks appear, this time some of them coming from Samsung itself. The first set of tech specs covers the rear or main camera of the Galaxy S5, which has been confirmed to be a 16MP sensor both from the Exif data of a leaked photo taken using the camera along with a report from Samsung about their new LED flash. Apparently, Samsung are working on a new reflector-integrated LED flash for their cameraphones which will deliver better light coverage of over 165 lux at 1A. They went on further to say that it would be used for their newest smartphones which includes the Galaxy S5. Another set of semi-confirmed tech specs comes from Bloomberg who say the screen on the Galaxy S5 will be much sharper, hinting at a possible 2K display of 1440 x 2560 pixels on a 5.2-inch screen. While the Samsung Galaxy S5 is expected to unveiled at an Unpacked event before the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, we expect the smartphone to be available by or after next month. No exact Malaysia release dates or pricing but we'll keep you posted.

The more tests the better, especially if it is something as subjective as battery life, which is why we've got this battery life test for the Samsung Galaxy S5. Covering Talk time, Web Browsing and Video playback, the Galaxy S5 does surprisingly well despite having a much brighter screen than before. This includes continuous talk time of more than 21 hours with 3G enabled along with 9 hours and 36 minutes of web browsing. In terms of battery tech specs, the Galaxy S5 does have a slightly larger 2800 mAh battery resulting in video playback of 11 hours. If you really need to save battery life Samsung have included many power saving features like the Ultra Power Saving mode, which basically turns your Galaxy S5 into an e-ink smartphone with little to no connectivity.
