Someone modded his own Nintendo Joy-Con controllers and they look awesome

Want different looking Joy-Con controllers for the Nintendo Switch? Well, you're not alone. A modder has uploaded pictures of a pair of modded Joy-Con controllers on Twitter, similar in design to the ones for the old Nintendo GameCube console. And get this, they actually work!

Hardware enthusiast Shank uploaded the shots to his Twitter account recently and proved that the controllers are functional. Through subsequent posts, he showed how the controller worked with the Nintendo Switch by doing a demo using Smash Bros. He also released a video on YouTube to show how he made the mod.

However, Shank's project isn't one that can be easily replicated by anyone. From what has been shown, Shank's modded controllers take the electronics from a Joy-Con and transfer it into the shell of a GameCube WireBird controller. Essentially, it's a reskinned Joy-Con. Of course, it's not that simple as that sounds because this transferring process required him to do some rewiring work.
