When it comes to mirrorless, Sony is easily one of the top brands to look out for and rumours hint at new models to come. Sources claim that Sony has started to show a new camera, believed to be a successor to the A7s II, to selected media and retail owners. It's said that Sony is gearing up for its launch in July, followed by a full-frame camera later.

According to Sony Alpha Rumors, Sony registered what could be the A7s III and an unknown full-frame camera in April and May 2020. However, the company held back from launching to wait for Canon to go first. Rumours claim that Canon is slated to launch its EOS R5 and R6 cameras in early July, which means the Sony A7s III could launch in the middle of July. Sony will then launch the new full-frame camera, expected to be part of the A5 series, around late August 2020.

But why would Sony hold back the launch for this long? Well, it's believed that Sony wants to be able to better position its products in terms of pricing. Perhaps Sony wanted to know more about what its competitor will be revealed so they can get an edge in marketing, or they may just want to undercut their competitor.

Regardless, these are still unconfirmed rumours so do take them with a pinch of salt. With that said, how excited are you for new Sony cameras? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for further updates on this.
