Vloggers and YouTubers need more than just a good camera. If you want to improve your production quality, you definitely want to avoid scuffed audio. In that case, you'll need a good microphone, such as the ECM-W2BT and ECM-LV1 from Sony.

First, the ECM-W2BT is a wireless microphone that comes in two parts - a transmitter and a receiver. The receiver's Multi Interface Shoe allows it to docks to a variety of different cameras, such as the Sony A7s. As for the transmitter, it uses an advanced omnidirectional mic to capture crisp audio. With Qualcomm's aptX Low Latency codec, it can record high-quality audio wirelessly and at low latencies.

Then there's the ECM-LV1, a compact stereo lavalier mic that can be paired with smaller devices. It comes with a windscreen to minimise background noise when recording outdoors, as well as a 360-degree rotatable clip to keep it secure. From what we understand, you can use this with a camera, laptop, or voice recorder. The 3.5mm audio jack could mean that you can use it with a smartphone too, which would be great.

Sony has confirmed that the ECM-W2BT will retail for RM929, while the ECM-LV1 will be priced at a more modest RM129. With that said, what kind of microphone do you use for video recording? Do let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for other news like this.
