Looking for a new professional video camera? Hold up for a bit because you might want to consider the new one that Sony just unveiled. The company has announced the upcoming release of the FX6 camera, a new model in the Cinema Line series for filmmakers and content creators.

According to Sony, the FX6 is packed with plenty of Sony's core technologies in digital imaging. For a video camera that's targeted at professionals, it's got a remarkably compact and lightweight design (the body is 890g) that makes it suitable for shooting videos on-the-go. Besides that, it has a 3.5-inch LCD Viewfinder, has two slots for CFexpress Type A cards, and comes with large heatsinks inside for good thermal management.

In terms of features, powering this camera is the 10.2MP full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor and the BIONZ XR image processing engine. Another highlight feature is Fast Hybrid AF, which combines 627 focal plane AF points with Real-time Eye AF for tracking fast-moving subjects or objects. Other noteworthy specs include the 15+ stop wide dynamic range, an extendable ISO range of up to 409600, and 4K video recording at 120P.

Sony didn't confirm the price of the Sony FX6 camera in Malaysia, but we know that it's retailing in the US for USD 6000 (~RM24558) and will be available here in January 2021. As for lens compatibility, Sony has confirmed that the FX6 will be compatible with a wide range of E-mount lenses, including G Lenses. You can find out more about the new camera here.
