Sony Malaysia recently launched their newest Sony α7R II, Cyber-shot RX10 II and Cyber-shot RX100 IV digital cameras for Malaysia. Packing in a 42.4MP full-frame Sony Exmor R CMOS sensor featuring ISO up to 102400, high speed AF with 3999 focal plane phase detection AF and 5-axis image stabilization, the α7R II is a lightweight but durable interchangeable lens digital camera for the professional and semi-professional constantly on the move. Even when zoomed in, the amount of detail and resolution for images caught with the α7R II are simply stunning, which perhaps justifies the Malaysia pricing of RM11999 for just the body. The Sony Cyber-shot RX10 II and Cyber-shot RX100 IV on the other hand offer high-end performance at value pricing with the high-zoom RX10 II going for RM5299, while the RX100 IV goes for RM3799. The two feature the world's first 1.0 type stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor, with the RX10 II packing in a ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T 24-200mm (35mm equivalent) F2.8 lens. All three digital cameras feature fully tiltable XGA OLED Tru-finder displays and built-in 4K video recording making the Cyber-shot RX100 IV one of the smallest 4K video recorders in the market that we've seen to date. The Sony α7R II and Cyber-shot RX10 II are available for pre-order while the RX100 IV is currently available for purchase.

“Utilising Sony's decades of expertise in digital imaging, we’ve made it possible for everyday customers to enjoy a professional imaging experience with the new RX100 IV and RX10 II cameras. With the power of the world’s first 1.0-type Stacked CMOS sensor packed into a compact, portable body, these new cameras bring the excitement and creativity of high frame rate shooting, 4K recording and a variety of other pro-quality features to a whole new audience.” Hatano Satoshi, Managing Director of Sony (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd.

Unsurprisingly, the real star of the launch was the Sony Cyber-shot RX100 IV with many of the professional testimonials showing the super smooth and highly detailed 4K video recording with up to 40x super slow motion shooting showing off the capabilities and performance of this ultra-compact. While all of the cameras shown were lightweight, the super portable RX100 IV takes it a whole step further by also being one of the most value for money 4K video recorders in the market at just RM3799. You can see just how portable and compact the RX100 IV is along with the α7R II and RX10 II in our hands-on photos below:
