Hollywood adapting a live-action movie of a beloved anime/manga franchise is not uncommon, but not all of them got a solid breakthrough and most of them failed the box office in terms of box office returns. In this latest news, it has been reported that Sony Pictures is interested in pursuing a live-action film adaptation of One Punch Man.

Yes, it's that bald superhero wearing a yellow suit and a red cape. The franchise that needs no introduction, the manga and anime have gained popularity on creating a spoof superhero genre on having an overpowered main character, Saitama who defeats his enemies with just one punch. According to reports, Arad Productions are producing the film, alongside Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner writing the script for Sony Pictures.

By the way, both Scott and Jeff were writers for the live-adaptation Venom which we saw last year, as well as the Jumanji series. The films mentioned did rather well globally, but it's tough to say if the One Punch Man live-action movie will get the same taste or not. Maybe it's best to live it to the Japanese?

Personally, I think Alita: Battle Angel is the most successful live-action movie adaptation from a manga series. But what do you think? Should Sony Picture leave One Punch Man alone? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned for more movie news at TechNave.com.
