Recently, we mentioned how Sony and Honda have launched a new gimmick for the Afeela EV. But it does not end there, Sony also teased a new spatial VR headset with a smart ring. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, Sony aims to launch a new VR headset that allows you to edit and shape 3D models. According to the company, this is the new “spatial content creation” system. Interestingly, Sony previewed the device with a unique pair of controllers today during a presentation at CES 2024.

In addition, this spatial VR headset will feature the Snapdragon XR2 SoC, Gen 2 platform, and 4K OLED displays. To note, this device is not the same as the PlayStation VR. The PS VR is meant for gaming while the Spatial VR is optimised for pro content creators. This is what Sony CEO Kenichiro Yoshida said:

“This new headset is made for professionals who work with 3D, allowing wearers to expand the “creation space by overlaying virtual objects into physical spaces,”

With seamless access to virtual objects, creators can work in real space with an immersive development experience,

Previously, Sony’s “Spatial Reality Display” allowed you to see digital objects in 3D using face- and eye-tracking. The company said the system will arrive later this year. However, there is no confirmation on the price and Malaysia release date.
