Sony is touted to launch the successor to the popular WF-1000XM4 later this year, though we may not have to wait long to see its design. Shared by The Walkman Blog, alleged leaks of the WF-1000XM5 show a more compact and refined design compared to the predecessor.

The true wireless earbuds received certification from FCC recently and based on the images, the earbuds are smaller than its predecessor. Moreover, the earbuds also utilise two pins for charging instead of the three pins used in the WF-1000XM4.

Speaking of charging, the earbuds’ case also looks smaller than the predecessor. Despite that, it actually features a larger battery at 5V 230mAh compared to the 5V 140mAh of the WF-1000XM4.

Of course, do take this with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet. Well, do stay tuned to TechNave for the latest development on this and for other trending tech news.
