Sony has launched a couple of midrange headphones recently that offer a cheaper alternative to its flagship Sony WH-1000XM5 while retaining some of its features. The new headphones are the WH-CH720N and WH-CH520, which we will elaborate on in detail below.

First up, the WH-CH720N has the same V1 chip found on the WH-1000XM5 which produces high-quality sound and active noise cancellation (ANC). Accordingly, the headphone does support ANC and Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE), Sony’s audio upscaling technology.

Furthermore, Sony claimed that the WH-CH720N’s battery can last up to 35 hours with ANC enabled. Other notable specs include multipoint connectivity, two microphones in each ear cup for the 20 levels of ANC/ambient sound that the headphones are capable of producing.

Next up, the WH-CH520 is the Japanese company’s new entry-level on-ear headphones. Unlike the WH-CH720N, it doesn’t offer ANC but still supports DSEE and multipoint connectivity. It has better battery life too, with Sony claiming that the WH-CH520 can last for 50 hours on a single charge.

Both headphones are offered in black, blue and white colour options and are set for release this Spring in the United States. The WH-CH720N is priced at USD150 or ~RM665 while the WH-CH520 is USD60 or ~RM266.

As of the time of writing, Sony has yet to reveal whether the headphones will be available in Malaysia. Well, make sure to stay tuned to TechNave for the latest update on this and for other trending tech news.
