Yup, Sony Malaysia is bringing in another Xperia member and this time it's the Xperia 1 II (pronounced as Mark 2). Although there is no official local price yet, the phone is said to be arriving in Malaysia from November 2020 onwards in Black, White, and the unusual Purple option. Anyway, here are some tech specs you should know.

From their official website, the Xperia 1 II looks like an ambitious smartphone as they claim that this device can do many things - photography, videography, mobile gaming, and even for audiophiles and cinephiles alike. Diving into the tech specs, it is packing a Snapdragon 865 chipset (no plus), a 6.5-inch 21:9 CinemaWide 4K HDR OLED display, 8GB of RAM, 256GB UFS storage + external memory of up to 1TB via microSDXC support, a 4000mAh battery pack, and runs on Android 10 out of the box.

Despite not having an SD 865+ chipset, the SD 865 has 5G connectivity so I guess that's nice. It's also worth mentioning that Sony is not bothering to pump up the pixels for their camera setup, featuring a triple rear camera with 12MP for each sensor alongside a 3D iToF sensor as well, whereas the front camera is 8MP. Apart from that, it also has:

  • IP65/68 water and dust resistant
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 6
  • ZEISS optic lens
  • Hi-Res audio, LDAC, 360 Reality Audio, dual stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, aptX support, and 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Fast Charging, Qi Wireless Charging, Xperia Adaptive Charging
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • PS4 Remote Play and DUALSHOCK 4 Control compatibility

Honestly, all these specs and features make the Xperia 1 II sound like the king of jack of all trades.
