The Sony Xperia 1 IV was announced back in early May and initially, there was no price tag during the introduction. However, Sony Malaysia just posted a pre-order of the phone which begins today until 10 July 2022 at the price of RM6099.

Available in purple and black, pre-ordering the Xperia 1 IV will grant you to bring back a pair of Sony WF-1000XM4 wireless noise-cancelling headphones for free. It's worth RM1099 and quite a good freebie if you asked us. However, the pre-order bundle is in limited stock and we don't how many units are there.

In terms of tech specs, here's a refresher - the Xperia 1 IV features a 6.5-inch 4K HDR OLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch scanning rate. Sony also added a new 240Hz Motion Blue reduction which sounds good on paper and is the first that we have heard on a phone.

Moreover, the Xperia 1 IV focuses a lot on camera software on its 12MP triple rear camera with much better lenses (85-125mm) which makes it the first True Optical Zoom Lens as aforementioned. The camera software includes:

  • All three cameras have a 120FPS high-speed readout image sensor
  • Cinematic video expression with 4K 120fps, up to 5x slow-motion video recording
  • Real-time Eye autofocus (AF) and 20fps AF/AE burst shooting in HDR on all three lenses
  • “Videography Pro,” and “External monitor” functions with live streaming
  • About 50% Brighter 4K 120Hz HDR display and Real-time HDR drive

Last but not least, it also features a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 12GB of RAM, 256GB UFS storage (expandable up to 1TB via microSDXC card), 5000mAh battery pack and IP65/68 water and dust resistance rating. Do take note that the box inside doesn't come with a charging adapter either.
