Today, Sony unveiled not one but two new Xperia devices. Simply dubbed the Xperia 1 V and Xperia 10 V, here's everything you need to know about the newest pro-camera-centric phone for professional mobile photographers.

Sony didn't waste any time in introducing the camera features. It's now equipped with a newly developed stacked CMOS image sensor "Exmor T for mobile" with a 2-layer Transistor Pixel. On paper, this allows the 24mm lens (52 MP (Full aspect) / 48 MP (Effective) / 12 MP (Still image recording) to shoot a noise-resistant photo with a wider dynamic range that is equivalent to a full-frame camera. In addition, the 85-125 mm (F2.3-F2.8, 12MP) optical zoom lens enables bright portraits with little distortion.

In terms of video recording, Sony integrated S-Cinetone into the Xperia 1 V and what it does is it allows the recording to have a cinematic image without colour grading. Additionally, the new sensor has approximately three times of saturation signal level compared to the conventional sensor and a unique image quality processing suppresses noise. There's also a new voice priority mic placed near the rear camera.

Moving on to other features, the Xperia 1 V packs a 6.5-inch 4K 120Hz OLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a 5000mAh battery and dual-frontal stereo speakers. Sony didn't forget about mobile gamers, too, with a game assist function "Game Enhancer" that provides visual and auditory support for mobile gamers. This allows them to livestream their games on YouTube on the go.

The memory capacity wasn't mentioned in the announcement video but we do know only one variant - 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS storage (expandable up to 1TB via microSDXC). Sony Malaysia also confirmed that the Xperia 1V will be available in Malaysia from 3 July 2023 with the official price of RM6399. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
