In case you missed it, Sony will be launching its new Xperia 1 V phone on 11 May 2023. There are a couple of leaked designs online, but a promo billboard of the phone appeared in Hong Kong showcasing the back cover.

The billboard was discovered and got posted on Reddit. Confirming a new look for the backside, the Mandarin on the billboard also reads "The next gen double low noise camera sensor" which we can only assume that Sony is continuing to focus on the camera performance for professional usage.

In terms of tech specs, we can expect the Xperia 1 V to be quite similar to its predecessor. For starters, it's very likely to equip the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset to complement the camera software. We can also expect some sophisticated camera hardware with larger apertures and sensors, as well as software to minimize noises in low-light shooting.

On top of that, the Xperia 1 V seems to continue the side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the flat side frames on the left from the back. The flashlight is also part of the triple rear camera design, and we think there's a good chance that each sensor could be just 12MP just like before.

Well, we don't really need to wait that long for the Xperia 1 V launch. As aforementioned, Sony will have a presentation about it on 11 May 2023. Until then, stay tuned for our official news coverage only at TechNave.com.
