Sony Xperia 5 V to debut on 1 September

Sony has announced that it will be launching its new smartphone flagship, the Sony Xperia 5 V on 1 September. The successor to the Xperia 5 IV, the company released a teaser trailer on YouTube regarding the launch recently. 

The smartphone will be released on the aforementioned date at 4pm Japan time and will be livestreamed on Sony’s official YouTube account. In the announcement video, Sony gave a few glimpses of the device and a couple of photo samples taken with it. 

Not much else was revealed, but the Xperia 5 V’s design was leaked last month via Reddit. Furthermore, it also appeared on Geekbench and China’s 3C website, revealing a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC paired with 16GB of RAM and 33W charging.
