Back in a few months ago, Sony was very upfront against third-party sellers on customising the PlayStation 5 cover. While the company did succeed in winning legal rights, there are still some more third-party sellers doing the same thing by going around a loophole.
So in a surprise move, Sony has announced three new colour variants for the PS5 and the DualSense wireless controller - Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple. Set to release globally in January 2022 at participating retailers, the PS5 console covers will be available for both the PS5 Ultra HD Blu-ray and the PS5 Digital Edition. The new covers are sold separately from the PS5 console and DualSense controller.
For the existing Cosmic Red and Midnight Black, Sony will also sell them as separated console covers in January 2022 for the Malaysian market and many other countries. Speaking of Malaysia, the new Nova Pink, Starlight Blue, and Galactic Purple console covers will be available during the first half of 2022. Then for the new DualSense wireless controller colours, the exact launch dates may vary by location so do stay put on that.
