Sony allegedly funding two new games for the Silent Hill series

The hype around Final Fantasy 7 Remake has made many gamers wonder what other games could be remade. For Sony, it seems Silent Hill is the series they're going for. Allegedly, sources are claiming that work on two Silent Hill games are planned and that Sony will be backing them.

According to Rely on Horror, a reliable source has confirmed that key members of the original Silent Hill game are working on a reboot. It's said that this project has been ongoing for about a year now, though there's no indication of how long the project will take to complete. Since the term used here is 'reboot', we're expecting it to be closer to a brand new game like what has been done with Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

The tweet above seemed to hint that Kojima Productions is working on something... silent

The other Silent Hill game is supposed to be Silent Hills, the Kojima-led game that was cancelled in 2014. A separate source has claimed that Sony is working as a mediator between Kojima Productions and Konami, possibly hoping that Konami will let the project come back and have Hideo Kojima lead it. In addition, the game could be made playable with the next-gen PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR, as well as be more narrative-driven compared to the original idea.

However, bear in mind that these are ultimately rumour for now. There hasn't been any official announcement from Sony or Konami in regards to this, so do take the news with a pinch of salt.
