Game streaming on mobile devices is something many companies are expanding into. The Microsoft Xbox Game Pass (now PC Game Pass), Nvidia GeForce Now, and Google Stadia are a few that are more commonly known. Now, Sony seems to be joining the gang with PlayStation Now.

For those unaware, the Sony PlayStation Now is a cloud gaming platform that allows people to stream games from older PlayStation consoles on the PS4, PS5, or PC. But according to The Verge, Sony has been planning on expanding its cloud gaming service to mobile devices. If this is true, it would allow gamers to directly access over 450 PS3 and PS4 games using a smartphone, tablet, or even Smart TV.

Currently, PS Now lets you stream PS2/PS3/PS4 games on PS4/PS5/PC

Currently, users can already stream a PS4 or PS5 to a mobile device via the PS Remote Play app. However, that's not the same as cloud gaming, which this rumoured expansion to PlayStation Now could offer. It should also be noted that Sony is allegedly working on something called Project Spartacus, a project that aims to provide PlayStation owners with a new PlayStation Plus bundle that includes PlayStation Now.

Of course, this is all speculation and Sony has never officially mentioned plans for this, so take the news with a grain of salt. Having said that, cloud gaming could become a big thing in the future as phones become more powerful and 5G becomes a reality. But what do you think?
