Sony is known for its wireless audiophile headphones, but it also sells gaming headphones. The company's Inzone series headphones were first launched in 2022. It's been a while since then, but a successor is finally on its way.
Rumour hints at Sony Inzone H9 II
According to Dealabs (in French), Sony will reveal new Inzone series devices at Gamescom 2025. The event is scheduled to run from 20 to 24 August 2025 and will feature a variety of games and related products. The Sony Inzone H9 II is expected to be a direct successor to the Inzone H9 and will appear at the event's ONL Showcase.
The new model is also expected to deliver some improvements over its predecessor. According to the source, the Inzone H9 II will have a detachable mic, Bluetooth LE Audio support, and the latest Bluetooth version. Its weight of 273g (with microphone) is also notably lower than the Inzone H9 (330g). Thirdly, the new model will allegedly have the same audio drivers used by the Sony WH-1000XM6.
Smaller battery?
However, the battery is rated up to only 30 hours, which is lower than the Inzone H9 (32 hours). This is likely due to a smaller battery, which could be how Sony reduced the weight of the headset. 30 hours of playback time is already pretty good, so Sony could have decided that it's a worthwhile trade-off.
