I hope you still remember about the PlashSpeed online joke that surfaced 2 months ago because it turns out that Sony have just revealed that they are really doing it. Not exactly called as the PlashSpeed, but it's really a new wireless router called the NGD-G1000T that was recently launched in Japan. Heck, it's even shaped similarly like a PlayStation 4 but thinner.

Manufactured by Sony's network service subsidiary, So-net, this is the latest and first hardware device and they recently launched a fibre optic communication service called NURO. Anyway, the official website states that the wireless router supports WiFi 6 with a maximum communication speed of 4800Mbps for 5GHz, while the maximum speed for the 2.4GHz is 1150Mbps. It weighs 790g and supports Bluetooth connectivity as well.

Another piece of interesting news is that Sony actually had their own many years ago but it was shut down. Perhaps the technology was ahead of its time back then and the consumers didn't see the need of it yet, so the NGD-G1000T wireless router this time is another shot at redemption for Sony.

But what do you think? Would you get this PlashSpeed wireless router if it was available in Malaysia? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
