Over the weekend, it seems that Sony has quietly released two new smartphones in India and they are called the Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus. These smartphones won't be coming to Malaysia, though, because it's purely "designed for Indian lifestyle" (lol) and very budget friendly, starting from 13990 Rupee (~RM914). Anyway, let's take a look at its tech-specs:
Xperia R1 / R1 Plus specifications:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor
- 2GB / 3GB RAM
- 16GB / 32GB internal storage
- 5.2-inch TFT LCD display with 720p
- 13MP main camera | 8MP front camera
- Features Predictive Hybrid Autofocus, dual SIM support, USB Type-C
- Android 7.0 Nougat
- 2620mAh battery
As you can see in the specs-sheet above, the two phones are nearly entry-level tiers and there's nothing much to look at. Perhaps the redeeming factor is its Predictive Hybrid Autofocus which is pretty good for cameras. This is also probably the last time we will ever see a 2GB + 16GB smartphone too, as it has already faded away in the market.
But still, do you miss 2GB + 16GB smartphones? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more Sony news at TechNave.com.
