Sony reveals new camera-centric Xperia X Performance, Xperia X and Xperia XA

Sony has finally revealed not one but three new Xperia X line up – the Xperia X Performance, Xperia X and Xperia XA, Sony focuses the new smartphones on its camera and photo features for the camera lovers. There are not price listed nor availability yet, but below are the tech specs and hands-on pictures:-

 

Sony Xperia X Performance

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32 GB (with microSD support) 
  • 5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920) curved

Sony Xperia X

  • 32 (1 SIM) / 64GB (2 SIM) GB (with microSD support) 
  • 5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920) curved 
  • 69.4 x 142.7 x 7.9mm and 153g 
  • 23MP, Predictive Hybrid AF + 13MP front cam 
  • Android 6 Marshmallow 
  • 2620 mAh battery

 

Sony Xperia XA

  • MediaTek MT6755  
  • 2GB RAM
  • 16GB (with microSD support) 
  • 5-inch HD (720 x 1280) 
  • 143.6 x 66.8 x 7.9mm and 137.4g 
  • 13MP Exmor RS, 1/3-inch + 8 MP front camera 
  • Android 6 Marshmallow 
  • 2300 mAh battery

 

Based on the name, both the X Performance and X models are more powerful due to Sony's 1/2.3-inch, 23MP Exmor sensor. The devices uses the Prediction Hybrid Autofocus developed by Sony's camera division, which is to track subjects and keep them in focus eliminating any blur movements within the image. Taking selfies in low light is possible too thanks to the 13MP front camera sensor.
