Sony shows off PlayStation VR2 for the first time

In my opinion, the Sony PlayStation VR headset is probably the least popular of the bunch. This is because it's hard to justify the investment when there's a lack of VR games. But Sony has been working on the new PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2), and we're finally getting our first look at the new model.

Yesterday, Sony published some images showing the Sony PlayStation VR2. As you can see, the headset has seen a major redesign. It looks a lot more compact and possibly much lighter than its predecessor. Sony has confirmed that the PSVR2 comes with flat edges so it can sit on flat surfaces. Also, it comes with integrated ventilation that should be good for keeping the lenses from fogging up due to moisture.

This time around, Sony is building controllers that match the main head-mounted display. The controllers have an unusual design, where it looks like a pair of joysticks attached to a ring. We guess that these rings contain sensors within, which means that users won't have to set up additional sensors and cameras in a 'play area' to fully experience the Sony PSVR2.

So, do you like the design of the Sony PSVR2? What kind of VR games are you hoping to play with this new model? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for future updates about this.
